News from the SCAS Community

Asifa Majid is the 2024 recipient of the international Vigdís Prize, awarded by the
Icelandic government, the University of Iceland, and the Vigdís International Centre
for Multilingualism and Intercultural Understanding ‒ UNESCO Cat. 2 Centre. The
prize is conferred for outstanding contributions to world languages and cultures.

Asifa Majid was a Fellow in residence at the Collegium in the autumn of 2012.

Valentyna Savchyn and her colleagues have received SEK 6 000 000 from The
Foundation for Baltic and East European Studies
for the project De/colonizing
Ukraine: Practices of Russification and Modes of Resistance 1922–1991
.

Valentyna Savchyn was a Fellow at SCAS in the academic years 2021-22 and
2022-23.
